May 25th - DH Game #2 - GAME #50 vs Arizona Diamondbacks (20-31)
Daisuke Matsuzaka (1-0) starts game two of the doubleheader against the D-Backs rookie Zeke Spruill (0-0). Game one's loss dropped the Mets six games under .500 and last in the NL East.

Finally scoring more than the opposition, the Mets again avoided a series sweep. Anthony Recker went 4 for 4, Daniel Murphy was 3 for 4. Pitcher Matsuzaka blooped a single to knock in the first Mets run. Then light hitting SS Ruben Tejeda pinch hit a RBI single in the sixth to give the Mets the lead. David Wright has a 9 game hitting streak. Jenrry Mejia pitched the 9th for the save after losing game one earlier today.
I was bored and dissatisfied with the Mets performance this week. I turned off the game in the second inning to play games on the xbox for a few hours. I'm writing this as Monday's game against the Pirates is half over, spending most of the morning trying to catch up on the weekend's games. It is definitely a lot of effort to keep this website coherent and timely [not that anyone's reading -LOL!] but it is a great way for me to keep on top of the Mets and prepare for 2015. I sat down and watched this game later at night and at least got a W out of it. Ruben's clutch pinch hit was a highlight for me. Thanks to the Phillies lack of getting a hit against the Dodgers Josh Beckett, the Mets are now tied for fourth in the division with the Phillies, six games behind Atlanta.
