May 28th - GAME #53 vs Pittsburgh Pirates (23-28)
Bartolo Colon (3-5) against Charlie Morton (1-6) in a day game at Citi Field. Top prospect Noah Syndergaard's MRI showed no structural damage to his arm. He will do some strengthening exercises and is cleared to resume pitching at Las Vegas soon, most likely joining the Mets staff this summer.

If only Bartolo Colon could pitch like this every time he takes the mound. A brilliant outing in his first game as a 41 year old. Colon K'd Ike Davis for the 2,000th strikeout of his career. Sloppy defense on both sides but home runs late in the game by Wright and Duda sealed the win.
This game was a 10am start so I watched it on my Droid smartphone. Not the greatest quality but still good enough to watch. A bit of a difference watching the Mets on a 5-1/2" phone screen and a 64" HDTV. My brother the lifelong Pirates fan, called and left a message complaining about Ike Davis not being able to hit in New York. Ike hit the first pitch from Jeurys Familia to Murphy for a rally killing double play in the eighth inning. The Mets start an 11 game road trip in Philadelphia tomorrow with a five-game series before they head west to Chicago to play the Cubs and then here to San Francisco against the Giants.
