Was this really the same Mets I just saw for three games in San Francisco? Good starting pitching, timely hit by the catcher, closer with a perfect ninth inning. Something didn't look right. But I will take a win over the second best team in the National League after getting swept by the best team in the league, the Giants. Curtis Granderson is starting to make amends for his slow start with a walk that has himself a streak of 22 straight games getting on base. Father of the Year Daniel Murphy homered after his Monday visit to the White House. But the big shot was Taylor Teagarden's grand slam in his Mets debut. Dice K (3-0) pitched well to get the win.

I am back to work after a few days off last week to take a trip to South Lake Tahoe with my long time friend and catch the weekend Mets series in San Francisco to watch the Giants sweep the Mets under the rug. Tonight my wife and I were blessed to babysit the Granddaughter. She showed up just as Teagarden blasted his grand slam. So I was a little distracted during the game but the impressionable young child was seen a few times watching the Mets play on the TV. She is being groomed by her auntie to root for the Giants but we will see where her loyalties go as Grandpa spends the summer at Citi watching the Mets.
