Game one of Skid's season at Citi. JULY 5th - GAME #87 vs Texas Rangers (37-49)
Bartolo Colon (5-5) vs Colby Lewis (8-6). David Wright returns after a week off with a sore shoulder.

38-49

Bartolo Colon gives up four runs in the first inning and the Mets fall behind 5-0 by the middle of the third. In the bottom of the third with a run already in, the Mets get the bases loaded with no outs and the Captain David Wright up to bat. David, Duda, & Lagares all fail to bring home any runs. Only a dropped fly off the bat of Bobby Abreu brings anyone home with the bases full. Failure to produce still haunts this team. And being down 4-0 before the first at-bat doesn't help.

Today was a lazy Saturday and the wife watched old movies all day. By the time the game had started at 4 pm we were in the middle of some classic flick and I waited until the game was over before watching. I did not realize it was a Fox broadcast and Cliff Floyd was a little unbearable to listen to. After the four run first by Texas I decided to watch just the Mets batting. Disappointing as usual. Another 100 degree day in the Central Valley, so staying inside under the A/C was a no brainer.
