JULY 13th - GAME #95 vs Miami Marlins (44-49)
Rookie Jacob deGrom (2-5) pitches against Brad Hand (0-1). The Mets look to sweep the Marlins and end the first half of the season on a positive note.

As written on MLB.com "deGrom's strong outing punctuated an impressive first half that saw him transform from a depth option with Triple-A Las Vegas to a big league rotation mainstay. He has posted a 3.18 ERA and .255 opponents' batting average while turning in quality starts in eight of his 12 outings since a mid-May promotion. In his last five starts, deGrom owns a 1.65 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 3.8 strikeout-to-walk rate." Another drubbing of the Marlins as the Mets are playing very well with a 8-2 home stand. Not very good timing to take a four day all star break as good as this team has been playing.
I did not watch this game either, missing two of three games of the sweep of the Marlins. Actually, since it is now Friday night, five days later that I am writing this while watching the Mets-Padres game, I don't remember why I didn't watch. Maybe it was another nap like last Sunday. Don't know. It's hell getting old.
