Game one of Skid's season at Citi. August 15th - GAME #123 vs Chicago Cubs (52-68)
Zack Wheeler (7-8) takes the mound against the Cubs Travis Wood (7-9)

58-65

The Mets first win this season against the Cubs. Eric Campbell's 3 run shot was enough offense to get a win for Zack Wheeler. Zack struck out 10 Cubbies while giving up only 4 hits and 4 walks in 6 2/3 innings. It was his ninth straight quality start and evened his record to 8-8. His ERA is 2.02 during those nine games. The Mets' bullpen of Vic Black, Jeurys Familia and Jenrry Mejia kept Chicago hitless the rest of the game.

Another slow day not working although I got a haircut early in the morning. I then took the two wonderful girls that organized my retirement get together at work to a great Italian lunch. Afterwards I went by one of the power plants I worked at and visited for an hour as it was payday Friday and I picked up my next to last regular check. I "Officially" retire at the end of the month and I'm currently burning vacation time. I made it home in time for the Mets game start. It is nice to not have something as trivial as work interfere with watching the games!

The METS are 6.5 games out of the wildcard spot.
