Game one of Skid's season at Citi. September 11th - GAME #147 vs Washington Nationals (82-62)
Bartolo Colon (13-11) vs Tanner Roark (12-10). If the Mets are serious about being a contender down the homestretch, they need to prove it by taking on the first place Nationals and beating them.

71-76

Well, there is a reason the Nationals are in first and the Mets are in fourth. And the reason is the Nats are a better team and they kick the Mets butt at Citi Field. Washington won their 12th straight game at Citi and have outscored the Mets 80-23 in those 12 games. Colon gave up the long ball early and late Mets rallies were squashed by the Nats. A home run by Anthony Recker was the only scoring highlight for the home team.

The Mrs. and I took dinner to my niece and her husband who have just had their first child last Sunday. Titus is going to grow up a Giants fan just like his Mom and Dad. That is awesome. He is a cute little bundle of joy and another die hard baseball fan in the making. After getting home I watched an episode of Utopia. Basically Big Brother on a farm without the performance games. How can it be Utopia if there is no baseball? Silly show. I watched the game late and after the 6-0 lead by the Nationals I just watched the Mets bat each half inning. Missed the beanball skirmish and the Mets got more hits than their opponents but still could not get the one that counts. Those lofty dreams of a wild card run were dashed (not that I thought it would happened).

METS are 2-12 vs Nats. 69-64 against everyone else.
