16-10 |
Lets Go Mets! The second 1-0 shutout of the Mets in two days. It's the first time in Nationals/Expos history that they have won back-to-back games by a score of 1-0. It was the first time the Mets had lost back-to-back 1-0 games since 1973. Michael Cuddyer robbed Ryan Zimmerman of a home run, catching his fly ball at the top of the left field fence. Dillon Gee set a franchise record by completing five or more innings in his 51st consecutive start. Dwight Gooden previously owned the all-time Mets mark.

Awake and sick at 5am |
I woke up early, unable to sleep. The sun was just starting to glow over the horizon. I somehow managed to fall back asleep until 10am. That gave me just enough time to get cleaned up and get to the ballpark. I was lucky and got free parking again! Thanks Citi, you have now saved me $110! My seat today was in the Delta section behind home plate again. Soft chairs! Yea. For having never been to the ballpark before, I picked myself some darn good seats for a lot of games. I love the in-seat service so I don't have to stand in line and miss parts of the game.
Fans entering Citi |
I felt a little better once I got inside the park. There was no batting practice today, I went to my seat and relaxed in the warm sunshine for about twenty minutes to try and warm my bones from the last two nights. I didn't even eat until the 6th inning and it was a Shake Shack burger. My fourth one of the season. The only food besides hot sausage I have repeated so far.
My view today |
The shade enveloped my section early in the game, it did get pretty hot today. The sun on me all game would have made me feel worse I'm sure. Waited all game for the big hit to put the Mets in front but it never happened. After the game I visited the local Duane Reade and picked up some cold medicine and allergy spray. My allergies are really acting up here, much worse than California. Luckily a day off tomorrow so I can rest up.
