Let's Go Mets! MAY 5 - HOME GAME #15 vs Baltimore Orioles (12-11)

41-year-old Bartolo Colon (4-1) goes up against the O's Bud Norris (1-2). The Mets allowed just 45 walks through the first 25 games, the fewest in team history over that span. Colon has issued one walk over his first 32 2/3 innings.

17-10

Lets Go Mets! Bartolo Colon threw 7 & 2/3 innings to win his 5th game on Cinco De Mayo. An inning that saw the Mets score 3 runs on 3 doubles and a single bettered the Orioles solo home runs in the 8th and 9th. Colon scattered 6 hits while again walking none. He is the first pitcher to ever beat a team as a member of seven different teams. There were multiple outstanding outfield plays by both Mets centerfielder Juan Largares and Orioles centerfielder Adam Jones.

Ticket Cost: $283
Time of game: 2:19
Attendance: 20,534

A moment of silence for a fallen NYPD Officer

Today was one of the few days that I have Delta Club Gold seats behind the Mets batboy and just to the side of the media box next to the dugout. These were the only super premium seats available when I was picking my spots each game. They are not cheap but the experience of being this close for views of the Mets players walking by to the on deck circle is worth the price. I couldn't sit here every game, that would have totally busted my budget. But I have this seat five more times this season.

My view today

In what is looking to become a habit, I again got free Citi parking. The attendants are starting to recognize me after only 15 games. I saw employee Bill in the hallway/tunnel to the Delta Gold lounge, he had told me that he had heard someone mention the parking perk last time I sat here. I told him it works but to keep it our secret!

Mets coaches

The boxscore says 20,534 fans were in attendance but I'm thinking that's being generous. I love sitting in the bigger crowds because of the energy (as long as they are not starting the wave - which they do). The intimacy of the smaller crowds is fun too. Shorter lines for food and beverage as well as restrooms. And I can get out of the parking lot faster with smaller crowds. But nothing beats the roar of a full stadium when the Mets win. If I am lucky there will be a walk off win with a sellout crowd.

Another Mets Victory!

The enchanting lady who was my Mets Fan of the Day, Gloria, has been a Mets season ticket holder since 1986 although her husband is a fan of the other New York baseball team. She also goes to every game. Smartly wearing her Mets accessories, I saw at least 10 employees stop by and briefly talk with her. She was an easy and gracious target for my 5 questions.
