JUNE 10th - HOME GAME #31 vs San Francisco Giants (33-26)
HAPPY HARVEY DAY!
Matt Harvey (6-3) goes against the Giants Tim Hudson (3-5)
31-29 |
Lets Go Mets! The Mets got their first hit with their first batter as Curtis Granderson hit a shot over Angel Pagan's head in center. However Curtis thought it was caught and quit running after rounding first to get only a single. That was just the start of a poorly played game that Matt Harvey did not help as he gave up a career high 3 home runs and a 5 run sixth inning to the Giants. Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud went 1-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in his return to the lineup from a broken hand in April.
Ticket Cost: $138
Time of game: 3:23
Attendance: 24,436
I was hoping to move on from yesterday |
I had a no hitter hangover all day. I was overwhelmed by so many friends and family contacting me after the game last night. I'm still not so sure I am enjoying seeing my first no hitter. I guess it could have been worse [like by a Dodger pitcher]. For a team that started the day in first place, my hopes of a dominant Mets team for 2015 are fading. Moves need to be made but which ones? Let's hope Sandy Alderson has something up his sleeve soon.
View for Harvey Day |
I was fortunate to sit with Faith And Fear In Flushing blogger Greg Prince for the game. I have praised his blog in the past and his book on life as a Mets fan was very enjoyable to read for me. We have had email contact for a few years as I planned my retirement dream, and had met up briefly during an earlier game in April. I have tremendous respect for his knowledge, experience and faith in the Mets. When I first planned my Dream Season, Greg was the only Mets fan in New York that I had any contact with.
Mets rally falls short |
Yesterday's no-no day wasn't all bad as while grocery shopping earlier in the day for between games supplies, I noticed something on my receipt that I don't see very often. But they still card me for the beer.
