Let's Go Mets! June 27 - HOME GAME #39 vs Cincinnati Reds (34-38)

HAPPY HARVEY DAY!

Matt Harvey (7-5) throws against the Reds Michael Lorenzen (3-2) followed by a concert by the Steve Miller Band for an entertainment double header!

38-37

Lets Go Mets! It rained from the start of the game until they pulled the tarp out in the top of the 7th. Matt Harvey pitched a strong six innings giving up one run and striking out 5. Curtis Granderson's home run to left in the third inning gave the Mets the lead but in the 5th inning Curtis could not hold onto the Red's Tucker Barnhart's fly ball and Mets killer Brandon Phillips singled him home to tie the score. Granderson then flew out with the bases loaded and two outs in the 6th to kill what could have been a regulation rain shortened victory. The game will be completed tomorrow before the regular scheduled game that will be the Mets debut of lefty Steven Matz.

Ticket Cost: $93

Rainy view

With the temperature at home in California set to be over 100 degrees for the next week, Deb and I enjoyed a rainy six innings plus an hour rain delay before they suspended the game at the top of the 7th inning. My first real summer storm was unexpected and we were not really prepared to be at a rainy game. We could not sit in our purchased seats in row 2 since it was a constant drizzle/rain/downpour the whole game. Luckily we parked ourselves in two seats in row 6 of our section that were underneath the overhang and managed to stay dry throughout the game. The game will be completed tomorrow resuming in the top of the 7th inning. The Steve Miller Band concert was also postponed until after Sunday's game.
