Let's Go Mets! July 25 - HOME GAME #49 vs Los Angeles Dodgers (55-43)

Happy Harvey Day! Matt (8-7) takes the mound against the Dodgers rookie Zach Lee (0-0). Rock band Heart plays a concert after the game.

50-48

Lets Go Mets! My happy factor rose significantly during this game. Every member of the Mets starting lineup reached base at least twice. New kid Michael Conforto - 4 hits, Kirk Nieuwenhuis - 4 hits, Ruben Tejada - 3 hits. Daniel Murphy - HR, 3 RBI's, Lucas Duda - 2 solo HR's, Matt Harvey - 2 hits 2 RBI's. Even new guy Kelly Johnson hit an upper deck home run. That's the way it's supposed to be when everyone is firing on all cylinders! Jeff didn't like this game much and he had to sit through Heart too. Matt Harvey Day lived up to the billing, bats scored 15 runs on 21 hits, then watching two women in their sixties belt out some hard rock classics. One of the top five games so far this year I've been to.

Ticket Cost: $161

Game #49 view

Jeff and I slept in until noon, then I fixed us some breakfast. I was pretty unhappy about the 7-2 loss the night before on "Iron Maiden Friday" so we declared it "Michael Schenker Saturday" and wore the appropriate Schenker shirts. I gave Jeff a tour of a couple spots in the stadium that we had not visited yet, the Delta 360 Club behind home plate and the Mets Hall of Fame off the Rotunda. It was the first time I had gone into the Mets HOF since the opening day watch party.

4 for 4 for Conforto

Mets big day

The Mets had a rare scoring barrage tonight that made for a great night for me. It helped to overcome the previous two losses to LA. Tonight we had great seats behind home plate, a pastrami sandwich for dinner, and a Heart concert after the game. We didn't get home until midnight and Jeff's flight back home was early in the morning so we needed our sleep. It was a lot of fun having Jeff here for a few days.
