I made my brother get up early [8am] so we could get to the ballpark early. The Mets kept saying to avoid traffic by taking the train/subway to Citi Field [The U.S. Open was being played next door]. I always try to arrive 3 hours before game time to take advantage of the parking perk. Today I miscalculated and we were an hour earlier than normal. That meant more time at McFadden's for a bloody mary.

Skid & brother Dennis |
After a bloody mary at McFadden's Dennis and I found a spot to sit at a bar right behind our seats. We had a few beers up to the first inning then took our seats. It again was a very warm day but as yesterday we had shade to sit in and avoid the direct heat.
Across the aisle from us was a family that had homemade signs for each family member that spelled out M-E-T-S. The letters were cut out and attached by scotch tape. In between innings I asked to take a picture of them holding their individual homemade letters. The young lady who I thought had built the 8x10 signs did not look happy, didn't hardly look at me, and ignored my asking if she had made the signs.
