Game #70 view

I was glad to be back at Citi Field after eleven days of the Mets and myself on the road. While the Mets rolled through Miami, Washington and Atlanta on an 8-2 road trip, I flew home to California for only the second time since leaving home in the middle of March. It was nice to enjoy the comfort of my own home and see my wife and family. I got to meet my granddaughter Thea for the first time and granddaughter Adalyn spent the night at Grandma & Grandpa's house. Adalyn told me she didn't want Grandpa to go back to New York. I tried to explain I would be home to stay in just a few weeks but she doesn't really know where New York is, just that it keeps me away from her.

Hottest Player on the Mets PLANET!

After the home visit and red eye flight back to New York Friday night, Scorpions concert Saturday night in Brooklyn, the Yankees game Sunday, I was glad to be back at my home park. Reconnecting with my Citi Field family is always fun. I had my favorite seat six rows behind the Mets batboy for tonight. Gloria was not at the game tonight which is rare. Eating at the Delta360 lounge under the stands, I made myself a chili dog with cheese and had a beer at the bar. Andrew was not working tonight but a very nice young man, Dillon was behind the bar. Kevin was his busy self making sure the food buffet was properly stocked. Chicken strips dipped in BBQ sauce was a nice 6th inning snack.

Jerry & I enjoying Cespedes

Before the game I was talking to usher Steve when behind us Jerry Seinfeld walked out onto the seats of his suite just ten feet from us. Steve says the Mets station a security guard at his door and don't allow people to approach him during games. This was the first time I had seen him at a game, the suite usually sits quietly dark. I've thought it to be a dream to sit and talk Mets with him during a game but this is the best I'll get.

Fans playing catch after the game

While leaving the stadium I noticed they had let people on the field to play catch. My brother Dan and I saw this in Pittsburgh and thought it cool to do. I hadn't seen the Mets let fans do this before. Having been on the field to play it's a fun thing to do.
