The morning of day 4 was again spent hanging with Kerry & Caroline. My next destination was my In-laws house in Lancaster, about an hour away. Not making a lot of progress east but I have time in my schedule. Checking my texts in the mid morning, I found out that Mets pitcher Zack Wheeler had injured his elbow and was going to have Tommy John surgery that would keep him from pitching until June of 2016. This bit of bad news was tough to take.
I visited Burbank Sports Cards just a few blocks from Kerry's house. Previously I had only bought cards from them through ebay. They have 40 million cards there. The owner gave me a quick tour of the facilities, I bought a few items and headed out of town. |

| Then off to the In-laws in Lancaster just as 5 O'clock traffic was flooding the freeways. I took the scenic route and missed the commuters. The trip took me just over an hour. When I arrived, Scott and Donna took me to dinner at a favorite of Deb and mine, Dickey's BBQ. I got a good night's sleep for the drive to Laughlin NV tomorrow. |
