Iron Maiden started in the late 1970's as one of the premire NWOBHM artists. Their mascot, Eddie, graces their album covers. They sold millions of records without the benefit of any airplay on radio stations and played before sold out crowds at their concerts.

With such classic albums as "Killers", "Number of the Beast", "Piece of Mind", and "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son", they became the premire heavy metal band of the 80's. Touring the world for months on end, they played before millions of fans in many countries all over the world.

The first time I saw Iron Maiden was in July of 1982. They were at Anaheim Stadium in LA on the Beast on the Road tour sharing the stage with the Scorpions. Every tour the current Eddie would be featured on stage or at the end of the show, sometimes mixing it up with Bruce or Dave.

I have the Ed Hunter game and it is fun to play. I've made it to the end after much practice. If you like video games and Iron Maiden, this is a great combo!

Bruce Dickinson, Nicko McBrain, Steve Harris, Dave Murry, Janick Gers, and Adrian Smith comprise the current Maiden lineup featuring the new three guitar attack. Their album "Brave New World" is by far their best effort yet. I just saw Maiden 3 nights in a row as they finished off their 2003 tour of the U.S.

Some of my favorite Iron Maiden tunes:

  • "Fear of the Dark"
  • "Remember Tomorrow"
  • "Powerslave"
  • "7th Son of a 7th Son"
  • "Where Eagles Dare"
  • "Strange World"
  • "Dream of Mirrors"
  • "The Thin Line Between Love and Hate"
  • "Prowler"
