Skillet is an awsome Christian band that combines grunge, rock and pop. Skillet themselves call the style electro-industrial.

Skillet formed as a side-job through one of the members church which soon became a sound that the fans loved. The name "Skillet" was supposedly derived from the idea of throwing a few of the member's ideas into a Skillet and frying them together to give them the music they currently have.

The band originally formed in 1996 with John Cooper on bass, keyboards and vocals, Ken Steort as guitarist and Trey McClurkin on drums. Their first album (of three) was released in 1996 by Forefront records and it was great. Still with Forefront Records, Skillet made another album in 1998 called Hey You I Love your Soul and then later 2000 they release their their album Invincible. Also in the year 2000, Skillet tookm a little bit of a new form revolutionizing their style my creating a more mellow and less pop and rock then the other albums with their release of "Ardent Worship: Live" which still remains to this date as one Skillet's most mysterious Album for how little publicity it recieved as the others on their release dates.

Skillet's latest and most famous album "Alien Youth" smashed the charts and broke many website's world records by being the most internet pre-ordered album ever. Out of all Skillet albums to date, this one is still thought to be the best Skillet Album ever produced.

Skillet lost Ken Steort as their guitarist, but they gained two more. Skillet also lost Trey McClurkin on the drums and Kevin Haaland on guitar.

Skillet now is...

John L. Cooper - vocals, bass, keyboards, guitars, and loops
