but all bands must start somewhere and undawia started in the august of 1999 when jon cooper and alex brindle sat down, wrote and recorded their first song, “freeze” in one day. Presumably there was some preamble before this event occurred such as “good morning” or “how are you?” but its not documented here. so undawia consisted of a guitarist and a drummer, a nice duet perhaps, but not what you’d really call a band. so alex and jon sat and waited.
nearly a year later, james peters joined the band after receiving a glowing recommendation from God himself. james’ specialist subject was bass guitar, and jolly good he was too. Only one thing was now missing: the words.
as luck would have it, a girl called kate love was on hand to provide said item and all was well.
kate presented the lyrics and music of “rollercoaster” and just the lyrics of “fading future” at their first jam and jon promptly wrote the music for "fading future". the songs have been rolling out since and that is the story of undawia thus far.
