Dissimulate (Earache~2002)
Itīs easy to be put off by the bandīs image, to see a photo or two and think these freaks from Poland are nothing more than another Gwar or Slipknot. If that isnīt enough to keep you from giving The Berzerker (the name given to the band and each of its members) a chance, then the industrial flavor of the music might push you away. There are plenty of samples either at the beginning of songs or mixed in the middle of tracks, and an industrial fuzz is constant. Despite it all, I still canīt get enough of this shit. The insane speed and the wall of sound are intoxicating. The songs themselves, while all maintaining a certain style, are interesting in their own right. I am curious to find out how much of this music The Berzerker can duplicate live, but for what it is, this is an awesome studio album that takes the power of death metal, juices it up with a healthy dose of steroids and overpowers all in its path.
