Resound The Horn (Dragonheart~2002)
You may expect a band named Doomsword to play doom metal. If I had to name the type of music on this album, Iīd call it 80s-style battlefield power metal. Fans of old Iron Maiden and Manowar might like this. I donīt dislike it, but I also find it hard to recommend. With a generic sound and songs that tend to run too long, there just isnīt much to make this stand out from the metal crowd. There are some enjoyable moments (most of them being instrumental sections), but the riffs and lyrics are too repetitive at times and the album as a whole is just there, nothing special. They do a good job with sound effects to bring a battlefield atmosphere to the music, but itīs nothing we havenīt heard many times before.
