The following rules apply to any contestants entering the competition. Please read the rules carefully, and in full.

The Official Rules of the 2003 Eclipse Open Music Contest

1. Closing date for all entries is 5pm Friday, March 7th 2003.

2. The competition is open to all unsigned artists.

3. Entrants are required to submit a sheet containing the contestants name(s), address, day-time and home phone numbers. Entrants may also be required to provide a sample of their material on tape, compact-disc, mini-disc or VHS tape. Entrants will not be judged on the sound quality of these recordings.

4. All entries are to be sent to Brian Keenan, 27 Dublin St., Dundalk or handed into the DKIT Student Union Office.

5. The Eclipse organising committee will select eight finalists. Two standby entrants will be chosen in the event of withdrawal or disqualification. The committee will only select a finalist or stand-by if there is an unanimous vote. In the event of a non-unamious vote, the decision will be passed to an outside panel to choose the undecided finalist or stand-by. The judges decision will be final.

7. All eight finalists will be invited to perform in a grand final to be held in the college bar of Dundalk Institute of Technology on Tuesday the 1st of April, 2003. A panel of judges who will be present on the night will decide the overall winner. The judges decision will be final.

We would like to wish the best of luck to all contestants, and a big thanks for their participation.
