    Biography / Discography:

In Utrecht (The Netherlands) at a "Mallorca-Reunion" they met each other. Ramon Roelofs (Charly) & Theo Nabuurs(Mental) had both spon the turntables one or more seasons on the Spanish island of Mallorca. Ramon, who saw his second release (R.J.'s Rule - Rave This Nation) turn into worldwide succes at the end of 1991 and at that moment very succesfull went with "Speedcity", just started his own record company, Master Maximum Records. Theo, thereafter, played on many big events such as "Eurorave" and "Dance To Eden". From that moment they started working together.

After a while Theo was offered a job as an A&R Manager at a semi-big independent where he started working part-time. After this things went fast for both DJ's. They created the succesfull "Thunderdome" CD's and started they're own "Speedcity Tour" which was in no time Holland's hottest hardcore act. The first eight releases on Master Maximum such as "Blast EP", "DJ Fuck", "The Ultimate Sextrack", "Tiroler Kaboemsch" and "Riot In New York" made big succes in the world's underground hardcore scene and the MM 1009 was the crown. "Live At London" went into the Dutch national charts and their videoclip was played several times on VIVA in Germany and Countdown in Holland.

With their single "Wonderful Days" they signed a labeldeal with Polygram in 1995 and all promotion is in hands of this major company in exception of vinyl which is still handeld by theirselvelves and distributed by Midtown in Rotterdam.

"Wonderful Days" was finally their big breakthrough. It went Top 10 in nearly each european country in April 1995, among them The Netherlands and Germany. Every major Radio and TV Station was playing their song and video.

The follow-up was "Stars" in August 1995. This time female voclas were used instead of a voice-sample. "Stars" also went Top 10 in many european countries. This was the proof that they weren't a one hit wonder.

Ready for chrsitmas 1995 they released "This Christmas". It included male vocals and enjoyed a lot of airplay on the major radio stations.

"Your Smile" was the first single to be released in 1996. And of course another smash hit.

"Fantasy World" is their biggest hit in The Netherlands and stayed many weeks in the Top 10, highest position was No. 2. It was released in early summer 1996.

"Hardcore Feelings" was the next single release in September 1996 and once again a big hit accross Europe.

In the end of 1996 "Streetkids" was released, but only in The Netherlands.

Finally in 1997 they were back in complete Europe with their new song "Party". And guess what? Yes, another hit!

In summer 1997 they released "Just Can't Get Enough". It was a coverversion. Their last hit that reached the Top 100 in Germany.

In spring 1998 they released "Next 2 Me" but it failed to be a hit. Maybe after 3 years people were tired of their music.

Later in 1998 the single "Too Crazy" should be released but never was.

Ramon did his rescue diving license in September 1998 together with his girlfriend Claudia.

On April 17th, 2000 a single called "Girls" was released. And once again they reached the Dutch charts. Was this the long expected comeback for them?

In 2001 they released a new version of their smash hit "Wonderful Days" together with STARSPALSH. And finally after more than 5 years they entered the German Top 10 again.

The duo CHARLY LOWNOISE & MENTAL THEO unfortunally split up during 2001. Charly tok part to the STARSPALSH project. Theo tried a solo comeback with the release of a new version of their hit "Stars" on March 11th, 2002.

MENTAL THEO released the single "Revolution" on June 10th, 2002.

On December 3rd, 2003, CHARLY LOWNOISE & MENTAL THEO released the "Speedcity", it includes 2 CD's and 1 DVD.

The single "Speedcity Megamix" was released on January 26, 2004.

Charly released the the mix-album "ID&T Presents Charly Lownoise" on October 22, 2004. The first disc contains a megamix. The second disc contains a few tracks of CHARLY LOWNOISE & MENATL THEO.
