Remembering 9/11

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Psalm 23

He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

Psalm 92:6

Comments from others on the tragedy

I will continue to pray for everyone involved with 9/11. They will always be remembered. I have a step brother-in-law who works at the Pentagon. His office was very close to getting hit that day. Thankfully he was overseas at the time.

In the midst of our busy lives, we need to remember that we live in a fallen world where there is suffering. Although we mourn over the loss of loved ones, we also need to remember the good times we had with them. We don't always know why God allows tragedies like 9/11 to happen, but when people stand together and refuse to be defeated, these life-changing events remind us that God is in control and He wants us to draw closer to Him.
