From here in
Australia we see England and the UK region as the home of techno music. In
Aus techno isn't as popular as it should be with only really the older
audiences really getting in to it. The most popular techno here is
Hardhouse, house and Drum n Bass with the younger audiences and the older
audiences I've noticed tend to listen to underground and trance. In
England its a different story, techno is huge and they listen to a more
wider variety including London underground, progressive trance, hard
trance, hardhouse and basically anything acid. America again has a
different style leaning more towards the RnB rap style and the hardhouse
style, Public Domain is a good example. One of my favourite styles of
techno comes from Germany, a great German techno group is Scooter, they
have their own unique style of techno mixing Hard trance, Drum n Bass,
House, Acid with some wicked lyrics thrown in. One of the greatest things
to come out of Finland is Darude. Darude is another Dj who writes his own
style of music and it is unreal, he had an awesome hit that im sure every
techno fan is aware of, Sandstorm. As you can see techno varies from
country to country but everyone likes there own style of techno and
different countries keep producing awesome hits.
