Christopher de Leon Praises Regine

THE new movie Pangarap Ko ang Ibigan Ka reunites Regine Velasquez and Boyet de Leon, the two lead stars of 1993's Wanted: Perfect Mother.

In the film Regine plays an artist with a personality that comes close to the singer's persona. The artist even owns a quaint bar, where patrons can sing and indulge in poetry readings.

The movie also reunites Boyet and Dingdong Dantes, who worked together in the film Magkapatid a year ago. They played the respective husbands of Sharon Cuneta and Judy Ann Santos.

In a press conference for the movie, Boyet took time out to praise his co-stars. He had nothing but nice things to say about Dingdong's acting in the movie.

"Dingdong was very good in that movie. I was lousy. No kidding, Dingdong really shined," he declared.

Boyet's declaration surprised Dingdong, who was seated nearby. This writer and his colleagues also nearly fell off our seats.

Boyet then marveled at his leading lady's thespian talents. "She is very creative and she has so many inputs in the movie. I have always believed that singers have an edge over nonsinging actors. Regine's timing is perfect," he said.

Boyet is an actor who sings, too.
