Two guys both named Paolo, Montalban and Bediones, have openly
expressed their crush for Regine Velasquez, but she's not at all
excited about it. "Why? How do you want me to react?" she says.
"I-announce ko, sige, please, ligawan na nila ako! Mas dyahi naman
'yon, 'di ba?"
In her Manila Film Festival entry, "Pangarap Ko ang Ibigin Ka," she
plays a woman who stalks the man she fancies, Christopher de Leon.
Would she go to that extent in real life? "I'm an incurable
romantic, but I really don't know to what lengths I'll go to get a
man. Kasi, I haven't really met naman a guy who'd make me behave
that way. But I know that if and when the right man comes, I'd be
the best sweetheart imaginable for him, just as I am to Boyet in
'Pangarap Ko'."
She plays her most hilarious and adorable role ever in the film as
Alex, an artist whose dreamboat is Raffy (Boyet), an IT expert who
cannot forget his dead wife.
"Some people might think it's easy to portray Alex because funny ang
dating ko. But the truth is, it's difficult to do it because you
have to get the right mixture of hilarity and pathos for you to look
real and not a ridiculous caricature. I'm lucky to have a circle of
friends in the film who support me all the way, Lara Fabregas, John
Lapus, and comedienne-singer Gladys Guevarra who's being introduced
here, and with Marissa Delgado and Noel Trinidad as my ever
supportive parents."
