Antimatter was formed in 1998 by former Anathema illuminary Duncan Patterson and long time friend Michael Moss. Demo tape was recorded in 1999 in a few different places : Duncan's bedroom, Mick's attic, The Bunker (DFA shelter), Danny North's (Sear) bedroom. Not all the songs where on the demo. 'Saviour', 'Holocaust', 'Over Your Shoulder', 'Angelic', 'Psalms', 'The Last Laugh' were done. Antimatter did record 'The Summer Effect', 'Flowers' and 'God Is Coming' but they were different versions. After nearly two years of setbacks and broken promises, Antimatter were approached by Icon Records, a new label based in Melbourne, Australia. After a few discussions, they agreed a deal and set about recording their debut album 'Saviour' in Academy Studios in September assisted by Brian Moss (DFA) & Les 'Lecter' Smith (ex Cradle Of Filth, Ship of Fools, Anathema) as well as featuring Sear Michelle Richfield and Drug Free America's Hayley Windsor sharing the vocal duties. Those in Benelux were the first in the world to see the official release of the debut Antimatter album 'Saviour' on the 21st of May (it was also released in Italy then). Next the debut album appeared in United Kingdom on the 27th of August. Now there are still constant delays with the album release.
