Formed in early -90 under the name Desecrator, this now sadly defunct band released 2 demos, an ep and 2 albums. In the fall of -92 they recorded their 'The Book of Truth' debut album in the, at the time, rather unknown Studio Fredman. This album was released about a year later on the french label Modern Primitive.
Shortly after the recording of the debut album the band was on the verge of breaking up as Oscar Dronjak (guitar/vocals) and Jesper Strömblad (bass) went on to focus on upcoming successes (Crystal Age/Hammerfall and In Flames respectively). But original member Anders Iwers (now in Tiamat) got together a new line-up and recorded two promotional recordings shortly after each other. These two recordings became the album 'Carpet' released on Black Sun Records early 1995. The recording features both vocalists Tomas Lindberg (ex-At the Gates - 3 songs) and Anders Friden (now In Flames - 4 songs).
'Carpet' is a very heavy album, strongly rooted in death metal but also showing influences from heavy metal and thrash. The album is an excellent documentation of one of the first bands delivering the Gothenburg sound on an unsuspecting world...
