Cicatrix came into existence in the end of 1994. At the beginning of the next year first line-up was formed with Janek (voc/bass), Bartek (guitar), Piotrek (guitar) and Artek (drums). After one year of rehearsing the band entered R-5 Studio in Warsaw to record their debut demo tape 'Unearth'. This cassette contained 6 tracks of classic death metal. It was released and self-financed by the band themselves. The response from the undergournd was very positive and some of the tracks from 'Unearth' were released on compilations like Voices from the underground and Commercial terror. In the same year Piotrek leaves the band and since then Cicatrix becomes a trio.

At the beginning of 1997 Cicatrix got ready to record their second demo. This time in a more professional conditions in New Project Studio they record 'Disable', which to some extent is a continuation of the style shaped on the first release. 6 tracks from this demo tape did not remain unnoticed and soon after the band signed a deal with Polish Novum Vox Mortiis. 'Disable' is released as a split with Herese from Warsaw.

After some misunderstandings with Novum Vox Mortiis Cicatrix leave this label. During that time they play a lot of concerts in Poland and promote 'Disable' themselves. 'Disable' got high notes in Polish and foreign underground press.

In March 1999 Cicatrix are in Selani Studio to record the third demo tape which was meant to be a full lenght material. Effect? 9 tracks of a slightly different style. From this time Cicatrix enters a path of more extreme metal where the structure of music is more dense, more sophisticated with numerous riff changes and raging speeds.

'Eviscarated' was released and selfinanced by the band and done in a professional way (color printed cover, pictures, lyrics etc.). Unfortunetaly due to some financial difficultied this tape had it's release day in 2000. This very year Artur (drums) leaves the band and his place is taken by Slawek.

'Eviscerated' got very good reviews and the first part of cassetes is sold out in a very short time. All this year was devoted to rehearsing with the new drummer and working on the next material. It has already been recorded and will be released by the band soon. Present linu-up is as follows: Janek (voc/bass), Bartek (guitar) and Sławek (drums).
