The beginning of the year 2001… four maniacs decided to start an old-school thrash band. Bjorn (guitars), Kris (guitars), Pedro (drums) and Jachim (vocals) started rehearsing. Bjorn already played in a band long ago, but left his guitar for what it was for about 4 years. Kris was also a guitarplayer in the melodic black metal band Athgowla and Pedro used to hit the drums in the black metal band Aguynguerran. Jachim never played in a band before.

So they started with writing some songs. Two songs were written (“Execution of a christian” and “Peetn, the maniac”). But things didn’t really work out. So on a day Bjorn was rehearsing with Henne on drums to start an extreme black metal band. While warming up Bjorn played a song of his thrash band and Henne started to drum on it. Everything went fine so they asked Henne to join instead of Pedro. He agreed in june of 2001. Now a bassplayer had to be found, so they asked Koen to join ‘em. After a while Koen sang as well. Demonizer was born!!!!

Henne had some years of experience in bands as Death Anos/Gardens of Grief, Anal Torture, Dark Tears and Impedigon. But always as a singer, this is the first band in which he hits the drums. And Koen plays bass (only bass) in the “Metal of Death”-band Dark Ages. So with the four of them they started to rehearse. The first two songs went great and they sounded a lot faster and tighter in the new line-up. The second song also changed into “Human Disease”. They also added some black metal since it now was possible to play fast(er).

As they were getting ready to perform live, they had their first gig in JH Jakkedoe on november the 2th 2001 together with Horror 2001, Impedigon, Undercover and The Barkling Rattlesnakes. And it went better than they hoped for!!! Yet due to a shouldercomplaint Koen had to stop a while with playing the bass. And since Koen prefered to sing only, they searched for a new bassplayer. This was soon found in Ulrich, a guy who Henne already knew for years. Ule had no problems with learning the songs fast and joined the band in the beginning of 2002. Ule used to do the guitar and vocals with his old band Weakened Beliefs, but this band splitted up before he entered Demonizer.

And so Demonizer became a band with five members!! After a while Kris decided to leave Athgowla to focus on Demonizer. Some gigs were played with bands as Houwitser, Enthroned, Occult, Double Diamond, Infernal Legion, Nargaroth, Aborted, Ancient, Panchrysia, Thus Defiled, Putrid Inbred and others. After the creation of ten songs, Demonizer entered the studio in December 2002 to record their first full length album. This was recorded in “Second Test” studio.

On may the 18th Demonizer presented it’s album “Thrashing Force … Attack!!” on a gig with Gospel of the Horns, In Aeternum and Razor of Occam.

In june of 2003 Demonizer played it’s first gig abroad. This was in the well known Camden Underworld in London, England with bands as Gorerotted, Killing Mode and more.

Everything was going good, til Bjorn got an infection on his wrist… It was soon clear that he couldn’t play the guitar anymore and 8 out of 10 chances that it wouldn’t go away… This putted us in a difficult situation… Since Bjorn couldn’t play live anymore Demonizer asked Anson (Urzamoth) to join Demonizer. He agreed and entered Demonizer in September of 2003…

Anson played his first gigs with Demonizer in Essen and Tilburg in mid October.

Yet two months later (beginning of December) Demonizer had to make another change in the line-up. Because of different problems Koen was kicked out of the band and Demonizer decided to continue as a four member band as Ule and Henne took over the singing.

Demonizer successfully played in the famous Baroeg (Holland) one day after they kicked out Koen and did a Dutch mini tour mid december. The last day of this mini tour they played in Tilburg (013) on the Xmass festival with bands as Deicide and Destruction. The mini tour (together with Flesh Made Sin) was a big suc666!!

As 2004 started, they were asked to perform at the United Metal Maniacs festival (Germany) as support for Nocturnal Breed which will take place in may 2004. They were also asked to invade England again and play on a black metal festival in London. The plan is to do a mini-tour in England (together with Infernal Legion). Next to these two gigs Demonizer is asked to play in Holland and Belgium several other times…

2004 promises to be a busy Demonizer year…
