-Lacuna Coil-

The band started out in 1996 under the name Ethereal, recording their first two-track demo under that name . The band was quickly signed by Century media and changed their name to Lacuna Coil. Lacuna Coil means Empty Spiral….. In 1997 They recorded their first EP also called Lacuna Coil and immediately went on an European tour with Moonspell. Completing a whole European tour before their first CD was even released! Lacuna coil was released in 1998. That same year the band recorded their first full length album called In a Reverie. Presenting a sort of Italian flavoured Gothic Rock. Smooth running songs about lost loves with just a touch of melancholy. In short a really nice album which is not to demanding. The female vocals by Cristina Scabbia are really very good but I have strong doubts about the male vocals by Andrea Ferro…. After recording the album the band toured until 2000 when they went back into the studio. Recording the Half live EP. Here the band adds a bit of a trance feeling to their Italian goth rock sound. This works really nice. The overall vocals are also a bit improved. That same year the band releases their second album called Unleashed memories. Followed by even more touring with ever bigger crowds. Liked from the beginning by both press and audience this band is going places!
