Overkill was formed in New York, USA, in 1984 by vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth, guitarist Bobby Gustafson, bassist D.D. Vernie and drummer Sid Falck. They financed the recording of their first mini-album but since they ran out of money they sold the rights to a small label called Azra which resulted in a net loss. They were soon signed by Megaforce and in 1995 their first full-length album "Feel The Fire" was released. Overkill has since then gained a reputation as one of the greatest speed/thrash metal bands of all time.
