Some ideas never die: the Zuul Fx concept has been floating in Steeve’s mind for the last four years. After having handled the vocals duty in the french thrash-metal band No Return from 1999 to 2003, a band whose reputation went largely over our national borders with six albums and a Nuclear Blast worldwide record deal, Steeve felt it was time to concretize this heartfelt project and to record those tunes he had in mind for ages (the melodic vocal lines of the No Return song “Disease” were the premisses of his style) and which would alllow him to spiritually realize himself.

To make this project happen, Steeve surrounded himself with some of the greatest european metal musicians. The members of the metal-electro swiss band Rain have been friends of Steeve’s for several years, thanks to common european tours. Steeve naturally asked some of them to fill the vacant slots in his band. Rain’s guitarist Blast left the band and became the new Zuul Fx guitarist, having various influences such as Sepultura, Led Zeppelin, Mötley Crüe, Static-X. Steeve and Blast are writing together all the songs since the original guitarist and drummer left.

Influenced by Fear Factory, Rob Zombie and Machine Head and with a dozen songs in their hands, Zuul Fx recorded a 3-track demo in December 2003 aimed at the search of a label deal with the young French producer Francis Caste. Blast recorded the guitar and bass lines and the band took Aurelien on drums. Shag (bassist) will fill the latest slot on bass for tours. Mixing heavy metal, machines and groove, Zuul Fx will undoubtly seduce every heavy metal fan, being melodic and heavy at the same time. Their first album has been recorded in April 2004 and you will be able to catch the monster live as soon as Fall 2004… Be prepared!
