Birmingham Alabama Regional Workshop

Our newly reorganized group is still thriving. We had another great meeting on December 5, 2005, with 18 brave souls venturing out through the cold and the Christmas traffic to meet at the Moonlight. We discussed 5 factors that writers should consider in order to double-check their lyrics and make sure they are as effective as possible. We then critiqued 4 songs - ranging from full-production demos to lyrics-only works.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: After the first of the year, we will be moving to the second Monday of the month. The 2006 meetings will be on: 1/16/06, 2/13/06, 3/13/06, 4/10/06, 5/8/06.

Please join us on January 16, 2006 at 6pm at the Moonlight Music Cafe, Birmingham's premier venue for songwriters. If you hope to have a song critiqued at the meeting, please bring approximately 20 lyric sheets. You may perform your song live, bring a cd, or just have lyrics critiqued. The Moonlight hosts an open mic at 8pm so any and all are encouraged to stay and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity and support our local musicians.
