Animated Puzzle

This is my first attempt at animating a puzzle.I have not seen any other animations on the internet

.If you should come across one, please let me know , but to my knowledge there is no similairity to any other tutoriaL

This is my tutorial and you are welcome to use it but do not copy and paste to another site and do not claim it as your own

Saying all that let's begin

Make a folder and save often as we are going to have a tremendous amount of layers, depending how much you wish to cut out

First you have to open your picture in PSP and duplicate it(shift D) and close the original

We need to make the canvas bigger so we have someplace to put our pieces, so we will go to Image>canvas size and add about 400 in the box, depending on the size of your cutouts

Only " center image horizontal" should be checked and make sure the right width size is in the "width "box....to find the right size...click on "image"...image information, this will give you your width and length size so you will know how much longer to make your canvas

...now add a new layer and with the new layer the active layer... apply your jigsaw filter, I used the jigsaw for XENOFEX 2,which you can get

Here

This will just be a demo, but there are other filters to use too

Now on the layer palette right click on the picture and duplicate.. Turn the original off as we will be working on the copy only

OK start cutting out your pieces

Make sure you are on the empty layer when you cut the peices out

using your magic wand......click inside the first puzzle peice...(always make sure you are on the empty layer when you cut)go to selections...modify...expand by 2....edit...copy...click the scissors to cut... edit... paste as new layer...selections...select none..We need to paste as new layers so we can move the peices back on to the picture...now move the new peices to the empty space at the bottom of your picture..

Back to the picture and cut out another peice and copy and cut and paste as new layer

When the pieces have all been cut out, you will have an empty image where your picture was., just close it off we won't be needing it anymore......now re name all your peices as peice 1...click on next layer and name peice 2...do this with each puzzle peice layer

..........................

Open your original picture by clicking on the red glasses

With your picture open , click on the puzzle peice 1 layer in the layer palette and move it to the spot in the picture where it should be,Now close off the picture and layers.merge>visible> save as P1 ... hit the undo button

Open the picture and move another piece of the puzzle in place............close off the picture and Layers>merge visible>save as

Hit the undo button so you have all your layers back

Open the picture and move another piece in place, close the picture and Layers>merge visible>save as P2....Hit the undo button

Open the picture and move another piece in place.. Close off the picture >layers>merge visible>save as P3....Hit the undo button

Keep doing this until all pieces are in place

DO NOT FORGET TO HIT THE UNDO BUTTON AFTER EVERY SAVE and DO NOT FORGET TO OPEN THE BACKGROUND PICTURE TO PLACE THE PEICES and DO NOT FORGET TO CLOSE THE BACKGROUND PICTURE OFF BEFORE THE MERGE

...................

Now for the easy part

The Animation

Open AS and click on the animation wizard icon

Just next>next>next>Put 50 in the frame next to "add Images"

Add your images in order and next>next>finish

Now watch your puzzle come to gether

I slowed down the last frame by clicking on "Animation">frame properties and I set mine at 100 but you can choose whatever number you wish

.............................................................................

Another little tip,I did this with a big puzzle cut but if you use a smaller cut you will get a much nicer picture

.........I hope you enjoyed the tut and thank you for trying it..........
