1.What's your name? My birth name is Jessica Lynch, but nobody calls me dat or else dey get soaked. I preferred to be called Stress, a name I have used proudly since I was 13.

2. Got a nickname? Yea. Dey call me Stress.

3.How'd you get it? Well, when I left Queens five years ago, I hitched a trolley to Manhattan where I met me best buddy, Sparx. She told me dat I was too crazy and stressed out. Since the name Stress rhymes wit me real name, it just stuck and I've been called Stress ever since.

4. What do you look like? I'm 5'7" and 142 lbs wit a muscular build. I gots green an' yella eyes that look like cats eyes, and long curly brown/blond hair. I wear a white tank top wit black suspenders and grey slacks. On top of my hair I have a grey newsie hat an black shoes. I always wear a simple silver chain dat me mudder gave me.

5. What's your story? *eyes shadow over* ok, ok I'l tell ya my story jus' dis once. I was born in a little Irish town north of Dublin where I lived wit me mudder and dad. When I turned six years old, my mudder got sick, real sick. On the night before she died she gave me her silver necklace an' told me ta never forget her... she never woke up da next mornin'. After dat winter passed me dad an' I decided to go to America where we heard the streets were filled wit oppurtunity. Since we had no money, me dad an' I snuck aboard a ship. About halfway across the ocean we was discovered by da captain. We was given da chance to work off what we owed in order to get to America, 'scept da captain made my dad work real hard cuz he was mad dat we ahd hid so long. Dat captain worked my dad to death, he did. T'ree days before we arrived in America me dad died. I was all alone. Luckily a nice elderly couple aboard da ship offered to take me in as long as I worked for me keep. I lived wit dem in Queens till I was 13 an' I left to support meself. When I arrived in Manhattan I met Sparx an' da rest is history.

6. What's your birthday and how old are you? I turned 18 last October 3rd.

7. Got a personality? o.k....let's see... I see myself as a strong-willed, lovable person who is very considerate of others ... I am told I am stubborn and talk to much, but am still very much lovable...I am somewhat gullible and a tad bit naive when it comes to certain things but I try not to let anyone know that cuz I don't like to be taken advantage of ( i have been to many times :() ... I stick up for the people I love and I never let anyone hurt them... I am very trusting but once you have burned me watch out... I also know how to hold any excellent grudge but I can barely keep a secret which gets me in trouble more often den i liked.

8. Got any enimies? Unfortunately, yeah. I kinda left Queens five years ago cuz the leader of da Queens newsgoils, Spindle, kinda thought that I stole her guy and came after me. I thought I left her behind but ev'ry now and again she turns up tryin' to do me in.

9. Any friends in other lodging houses? Me best friends are in da Manhattan Lodging House .

10. Got a sweetheart? Not right now but I got my eye on da new Newsie in dese parts, West.

11. Anything else we should know? My best kept secret would have to be the fact that I am a notorious pickpocket. Not even Sparx knows dat. Da only person who does is Spindle cuz she taught me how. But I'm good, I ain't picked a pocket in almost 4 years.
