Radiohead: OK Computer
The Matrix
__________________________________________________

The world of Radiohead and the world of The Matrix seem to share a cosmic connection. There are so many synchronicities between this band and this film it almost boggles the mind. And I am not writing simply of thematic similarities -- though they are undeniable. There are several different ways of watching The Matrix while listening to the music of Radiohead -- all with different moods, methods, and discoverers. They do not all have a presence on the internet, but luckily *this* one does. :P

There are two segments for this synch ...

And two different methods for playing the first segment. The first method is this: pause your copy of OK Computer at the beginning of track 1, and press play just after Neo goes through the looking-glass, when the screen fades to black. Play tracks 1 thru 8 in sequence ... To try the second method, program your stereo to play OK Computer's tracks in the following order: 3 2 1 4 5 6 7 8. The starting point is the same.

To play the second segment, have the album cued up at the beginning of track 5, and time it so the music starts *just* as Neo enters the building to rescue Morpheus: the shot of Neo's boots coming in through the revolving door. Enjoy.

1. Okatrix

Okatrix, discovered by Michael Allen [home page], is a different kind of stew. It uses the same ingredients, but has a very different flavor. I enjoyed it a great deal, and I think you will too. It's definitely worth checking out.

2. Radiohead vs The Matrix

Radiohead vs. The Matrix, by Deep Blue Funk Films [home page] , has become something of an underground phenomenon. If it comes to a city near you, it's a must-see.
