Clark plays a mean Maureen. Yeah. I mean, totally kicked the buttocks out of Over the Moon. She was amazing. My story begins on RENT night (January 26, 2002), my first time seeing it. It was, of course, the wonderfully awesome Collies cast (I love them so). So, we go out to dinner, yum yum blah blah blah. We proceed to go to the theatre and stand in the lobby attacking elderly ushers about the location of the stage door. They tried to lie to us and thwart us, but we ignored their pitiful attempts. Anyway, looking on the little cast list board thing, we see...an understudy for Maureen. Oh, no! Zach's first RENT is not perfect. So, we go in sit down (almost yipe upon sight of the stage), and make small talk. First act is wonderful...blah blah blah. We're Okay ends, and we're kind of like, okay let's get this stupid song, SUNG BY AN UNDERSTUDY NO LESS, over with. Oh my God. Clark rocked our world. From the first chorus, we were stunned. She was hilarious, cute as all get out, and an amazing actress. So, we get through an emotional rollercoaster as the show finishes, and then follow the rushers to stage door--running through mud to see the wonderful cast!! (BTW, the playout is awesome!! We did hear that. The band rocks!) So, Damien comes out, yeah you were great picture picture whatever. Then Clark walks out, and everyone applauds! She was overcome...stopped and laughed and covered her face, and then walked triumphantly up to us. It was great. Picture, picture. Then we were talking to her, and I, in my awe of the awesomeness that is Clark, was in a stupor..."Clark...you rock...I...love...you...picture...with...you...please?" And she was all, "Of course!!" So, we got a picture with her and she was the sweetest thing ever. And then she left. Well, they all left. But whatever. So, crossing every part of my body that is crossable that they will come back!! The End.
