William Henry Havergal was an English composer who lived for most of his life in Worcestershire. His occupation was as a rector at various parishes, and as an honorary canon at Worcester Cathedral, but it is for his music that he is best remembered today. He was very prolific, and several books of his works were published both during his lifetime, and after his death by his children.
