The Four Brothers Part Two
By : Plato

A year later at the Jellicle Ball when the twins were thirteen, all was going well for Plato that night until he heard a crash followed by Demeter screaming Macavity's name. Plato shivered with fear as he remembered what Mac had told him the previous year. "You will never be strong enough to fight me. You will always be the silent one to hide somewhere and never show yourself when I'm around." Mac, in a way, was right, but this time would be different. As the ball went on, Plato became wary of where Mac might be. 'No sign of him yet' he thought. Admetus was happy to see Plato become an adult tom this year for he knew Plato had developed faster in some ways than he did. A second crash sent Plato to hide in his pipe and think about what he could do to show Mac that he wasnt small anymore. Just when Plato had just started to calm down, a third crash was heard. As usual, Plato went to hide. Mac looked over the Junkyard, he spotted his brother hiding like he always did after being tortured by Mac. Admetus quickly stood between Plato and Mac so Plato wouldnt have to see his menacing brother. Mac laughed at that sight as his henchcats catnapped Old Deuteronomy.

After Mac left, Admetus turned to Plato and started to comfort him, being that they were twins, they knew far too much about each other than anybody else would. Plato was talking to Admetus when a fourth crash occurred. Macavity, Plato thought as Admetus got up to look around. Admetus then told Plato to stay where he was, he was hiding deep in his pipe but still could see what was going on outside, until told when he could come out. Plato agreed, for he knew that would be the perfect time for Mac to meet his match. Mac was looking for Plato again but couldn't find him, so he just went on to do what he came to do. He started to catnap Demeter until he was stopped by Munkustrap while Alonzo carried her off to a safe place. Admetus watched for the right time to tell Plato to show himself to Macavity. No sooner than Mac had injured Munkustrap, Admetus yelled out as loud as he could "Now!" That stopped Mac dead in his tracks, he turned around to face Admetus who was standing by the pipe that Plato was hiding in. "Now, what?" Mac asked. Admetus stepped back and didn't say another word, he just stared at Mac. As Mac started to turn back around the other way, something caught his eye. Something was moving slowly out of the pipe. When Mac noticed that it was Plato, he started to laugh. Plato turned to face Admetus like he was going to hide, but he had this grin on his face that only Admetus could notice. Mac, of course, started laughing even more, but Plato didnt care, who startled Mac when he turned around to face him with a glare in his eyes. Mac was moving a little bit closer just enough to scare Plato, but he didn't budge.

Just then Admetus stood behind his twin and whispered in his ear, "I know you can teach him his lesson." Plato nodded and began to move closer to Macavity. "For years, I have been bullied, teased, and tortured to your liking for being the smallest. Well now it's my turn to show you that I'm not small anymore!" Mac was surprised to hear those words from his baby brother and so their battle began. Ten minutes later, Mac was about to pounce on Plato when all of a sudden Plato flipped Mac onto his back and pinned him down. Plato took one paw and slashed Mac's face. At that moment, Mac stopped and started to cry. Plato looked puzzled by this because he had never seen his brother cry and stood up. Fire jumped down from where he was perched as Admetus ran over to see what was going on. Mac then got onto his knees after Plato got up off of him and pleaded with Plato to forgive him of all those years of torment. "I was just trying to make you tougher and stronger before your time and I'm sorry." Plato then looked at Fire who was also crying and begging for forgiveness. Plato turned back to Mac and replied, "You're my older brother. You couldn't know much about my hidden abilities, but I still love you." With that, the four brothers exchanged hugs and played games that they used to play, then watched the rest of the ball sitting side by side in the order that they were born, (Fire, Mac, Plato, then Admetus.). Later, after the ball was over, Fire and Mac were accepted back into the tribe and never teased Plato again.
