Macavity’s Worst Nightmare
(sequel to Plato’s Dream)
By : Plato

After Jazzi had given the message to Alonzo, she returned back home, an old warehouse with lots of rooms, one of which was hers that she shared with a tom named Macavity. They were paired up as kittens to be roommates so that when the time came, they could become mates. Jazzi didn't like the idea of having Macavity for a mate either. He always pushed her around and never let her get any sleep because they only had one bed in their room. He took over most of it, and the only way she able to sleep, if at all with Macavity's heavy growling, was on the floor. Later that night, Jazzi had taken a much-needed sleep on the bed that for the moment was hers and hers alone while Macavity was out hunting for their dinner. When he returned, he made her get up to eat, afterwards was told to fetch some cream for him. Great, she thought, 'He's going to get drunk and lock me out of the room again.' Knowing what Macavity's like in that state, she found a small corner in the warehouse and settled down to go to sleep.

The next morning at around five a.m., Jazzi woke to find that she was back in the room and not on the floor, but where was Macavity? She looked around the room to find him lying next to her on the bed. He then woke up and asked, "Did you sleep well?" "Why am I here and not on the floor?" she asked him. "Last night, when you didnt come back, I got worried and went to find you. After seeing you in that cold corner, I realized that locking you out is a horrible thing to do to my future mate, so I picked you up and brought you back here. You were so cold, I wasn't about to put you on the floor and laid you here instead" he told her. She couldn't believe that Macavity was nice to her for a change and then left for the Junkyard while Macavity went back to sleep.

When she got to the Junkyard, she asked her brother if Plato was here. "His family is away on vacation and he'll stay here until they return" Alonzo said as he pointed towards a pipe in the corner of the Junkyard. "Thank you, big brother, now go back to sleep" she whispered and walked over to the pipe. When she got to the opening, she peeked inside to find Plato asleep. She quietly crawled in and curled up next to him, being careful not to wake him up. The sound of his purring lulled her back to sleep. Later that day, Macavity was frantically searching for Jazzi, she was never away from him this long before. He had looked everywhere, but couldnt find her. "Wait until I get my paws on her, she'll never leave my sight again!" he screamed.

Realizing that she had spent most of the morning at the Junkyard with Plato, Jazzi ran home as fast as she could to find Macavity waiting at the entrance to the warehouse. "Where have you been?" he growled. "I've been at the Junkyard to see friend." she said and started towards their room. Macavity followed and pushed her in, and then he slammed the door to muffle her screams as he tortured her for not being home sooner. Thirty minutes into his torture session, he raised his paw and was about to slash her when she screamed "No, Macavity! How can I be your future mate if you keep doing this to me? You can't force me to love you, You need to let the love between us grow before we can be mates." He stopped and answered her back, "You're right, I can't force you to love me. You have to want to love me." Then he started to apologize for all the other times he had beaten her as he carefully cleaned her cuts.

After Jazzi rested and Macavity brought her something to eat for lunch, she told him that she needed to go see her brother at the Junkyard. "You can go, but only if I go with you" he said. When they arrived at the Junkyard, Jazzi asked Alonzo quietly where Plato was so Macavity wouldn't hear. He whispered in her ear that he was eating a snack in his pipe. "Macavity," she said, "I'm tired from all that walking, so I'm going to take a nap in my brother's room until its time to go home. Why don't you and Alonzo get aquainted for the time being?" "Ok" he said and kissed her cheek. When she got to her brother's room, she didnt go to sleep like she had told Macavity. Instead, she went to a small passageway that Plato used to get to Alonzo's room at night whenever he had a bad dream or it was too cold for him in the pipe. Upon entering the back entrance of the pipe, she quietly asked, "Plato, are you here?" Plato turned around to see Jazzi at the back and went to find out what she wanted. "Jazzi, why are you all cut up?" he asked her. "It's a long story" she told him as she put her head on his shoulder to get a comforting feeling that she could only receive from him.

An hour had gone by and Macavity said that it was time to go. He had watched Jazzi earlier as she went to Alonzo's room so he would know which way to go. When he entered the room, he noticed that Jazzi wasnt there. He started looking around for any other entrances to the room and found a small hole in a corner. He went to it and peeked in to see where it led to, immediately picking up Jazzi's scent and followed it all the way to Plato's pipe. When he saw now why she had come to the Junkyard, he got angry with rage. "Jasmine, how dare you do this to me. We are to be mated soon!" Macavity growled, startling Jazzi and Plato as they looked up to find him entering the pipe. Jazzi sat up and Plato ran out to find Alonzo, fearing that Macavity would hurt her much worse this time.

When he had found his friend, he said "Zo, I think you're about to find out what has been being done to your sister" and pointed towards the pipe. Alonzo ran over to get her out of there before it was too late. "Macavity, leave her alone!" he scoffed as he helped her out of the pipe and carried her over to Plato. "Please take her to the twins' chamber, Coricopat and Tantomile will know what to do" he told his friend. Plato did as he was told, then returned to confront Macavity, who was bigger and stronger than he was, but Plato didn't mind. "Now I know why Jazzi was here this morning" Plato said, "She was here because she's afraid of you." "You know nothing about us being roommates and how we are to be mated soon!" Macavity yelled at him. That brought tears to Plato's eyes and he ran off to his pipe. Alonzo, who had witnessed the whole thing, turned to Macavity and told him, "As long as Jazzi stays here at the Junkyard with me in my room, you are never to come around. Do I make myself clear?" "Crystal, but she will need to decide who will be her mate, me or him" Macavity answered and then left for home.
