Plato, His Past is Revealed
By : Plato

Chapter 1
Plato's First Meow

It was a warm Spring day, and every cat at the Junkyard had gathered at the pipe to see Blitz's newborn kit. "He's a strong one" Munkustrap said. Skimbleshanks also stated that he would be perfect for lookout duties when he was older. Blitz's nephew had been born two weeks ago, so he and his mother, Princess, had come to see the new family member. "Admetus, this is your cousin" she said as he inspected the new kitten. When Admetus approved of him, he gave a gentle lick on his forehead, which made the kit give out a tiny meow. "What have you named him?" Munkustrap asked. Everyone's ears perked up to hear the name for two reasons. The first is to see if the kit was noble enough to have the name that was given to him, and the other is to know whether or not he could be a future Jellicle. "Plato" Blitz replied as she looked at her son. Every cat cheered when they heard his name because he fit in both categories.

A week had passed and Plato's markings were becoming more prominent. Most noticeable was his red and black headfur. He mostly looked like his mother, black and brown patches on white fur, but his headfur is a constant reminder of his father. Inside one black patch behind his left ear, there is a single snow-white spot. Plato and Admetus were always together playing, exploring, and just doing ordinary things that rambunctious toms do, that they act like brothers. Blitz was happy to know that Plato would always have a family at the Junkyard if anything should happen to her. "Plato, time for dinner. Tell Admetus he can come too" Blitz said. "Ok mom" Plato replied and practically pulled Admetus towards home to eat.

Chapter 2
Plato's First Jellicle Ball

It was time for the annual Ball at the Junkyard and Blitz's mate, Firefrorefiddle, had come to see her after being away for a month now. Fire was there when Plato was born, and raised him right, so he was excited to learn that his son would be attending his first Jellicle Ball and that it was Platos Day of Rights as well, meaning that Plato becomes a full-fledged adult tom, (keep in mind, he is at the age equivalent to a thirteen year old human male.) Admetus was also going to attend the Ball right alongside Plato. Their best friends, Coricopat and Pouncival, were only six months old, but got to watch their friends as they made the transformation from kittenhood to adulthood. Plato and Admetus sat and listened as their rights were being recited, occasionally looking at each other to see if the other understood. As the last right was being read, both toms closed their eyes and bowed their heads as they were instructed to choose their third names that they should keep to themselves. Like all Jellicle cats, they must have three different names. A family name, a fancier name, and a secret name. Plato's and Admetus' family names are Bryn and Frank, respectively named after their owners, Bryn Walters and Frank Thompson.

Chapter 3
Plato learns the truth

A month had passed since the Ball took place. Firefrorefiddle had stayed at the Junkyard since then. Plato was looking at Fire one day, and then asked his mother if Fire was his father. Blitz didn't answer him right away but finally told him, "No, he is not, but to you, he feels like one. Your real father is a tom named Macavity. He has red and black stripes on white fur. His mane is sandy colored unlike yours. Your headfur is the only trademark you have of your father." After he had been told this, Plato stood in a blank stare, he couldn't move at all after hearing the news. Later, it was getting late and Plato was still standing in the middle of the Junkyard devastated. Admetus was starting to worry about his cousin and went to check on him. "Plat, you ok?" he asked as he touched him on the shoulder. Plato never answered, he just collapsed from standing in one spot too long and from skipping dinner. "Mom, Auntie Blitz, Plato passed out!" Admetus screamed. Blitz immediately ran to see about her son. Fire had to pick Plato up and carry him home being he was strong enough. Admetus helped Plato to eat, what little he did that night, and never left his side.

The next day, Plato was still taking it slow, but getting stronger as he ate more and more. "Addi," Plato started to say, "As soon as I get up to walking again, I'm going to find my real father. I don't want anyone to know this because they'll try to stop me." Blitz had been listening to the conversation just outside Plato's bedroom door where they lived when not at the Junkyard. She ran to Fire and held onto him as tight as she could as tears were pouring down her cheeks knowing that Plato had made choice final to find Macavity.

Chapter 4
Father, I'm home!

At a run-down warehouse, Macavity sat on a bunch of satin pillows in a room that he called the Throne Room. Macavity was informed on the birth of his son, Plato, the previous year, but never really wanted to see him. Just as Plato said, he was going to find his father. Plato left the Junkyard one day and went straight to Macavity's Lair. The night before, Plato had a dream about his father and where he lived, so, in a way, he knew which way to go. When Plato arrived at the warehouse, he asked to see Macavity. A henchcat left to tell the boss this message and later returned to ask the question that Macavity had asked him. "Who wishes to see the Hidden Paw?" Lucky asked Plato. Plato replied, "Tell my father that I'm home." Lucky then turned and walked down the hall to the Throne Room and told Macavity what Plato had told him. A few moments later, the door of the Throne Room opened and Lucky stepped out, but didn't return to tell Plato anything. The door was still open, Lucky gestured for Plato to go in, but Plato just shook his head as if to say no. Lucky looked at Macavity, then shook his head. With that, Macavity stepped out and walked over to where Plato was standing, whom had his eyes closed thinking of his third name. Macavity did the same thing thinking of his third name as well. Both Plato and Macavity stood in front of each other with their eyes closed for about a minute, then opened them to say their third names. Mystriker. they both said. Yes Plato and Macavity shared the same name. Plato then said, "Father I'm home." Macavity gave his son a hug and welcomed him to his Lair. Not long after that, Plato was beginning to miss his other family at the Junkyard and his owner Bryn, so he told Macavity this, who replied, "If you ever want to see me when you're not here at my Lair, just stand in front of a mirror and you will see me inside of you." Macavity then gave his Plato a hug good-bye and watched as left for home.

Chapter 5
Macavity goes home

Later that night, Bryn Walters had come home from rehearsals, and noticed that Plato was sitting in front of a mirror. "Strange," he said, "Bryn's never done this before." Bryn, (not the cat,) then sat down behind Plato and looked in the mirror, too. Bryn could see that Plato's reflection in the mirror was changing to another cat. Bryn closed his eyes, then opened them again. What he saw in the mirror was not of Plato's reflection, but of the cat he had prior to Plato. "Jester" he said and looked down at his namesake. Plato looked up at him and meowed as if to say, "That's my father." The next day, Bryn didn't have to go to rehearsals, so he and Plato walked around the neighborhood. He kept thinking about the cat he saw in the mirror and soon walked right into a warehouse that Plato had led him to. Macavity stepped out to be greeted by Plato and was surprised to see that his previous owner was there as well. Macavity jumped up into Bryn's arms and licked him on the nose. Macavity let out a meow and looked down at Plato, "Take me home, please." Bryn looked at both cats and noticed how they acted towards each other. "Bryn, I can almost bet that Jester is your father." Plato meowed, "That's right. Bring him home with us." Later on that night, Bryn had set set out three bowls of food for Bryn, Snowball, and last but not least, Jester, just before settling down to sleep because the next day, he was to pick up his costumes for a video shoot he was to do. Bryn was chosen to play two roles, Plato and Macavity.

The next morning, after getting his costumes, he returned home to look at them. All three cats were in his room waiting to get a peek at them as well. Bryn opened the first box and pulled out a white costume with black and brown stripes. The wig remarkably resembled Plato's headfur, spot and all. Bryn looked at the costume and then at his namesake and said, "Plato?" Plato rubbed his head against Bryn's leg. Then he opened the other box and pulled out a white costume with red, orange, and black stripes, the fiery red and black wig along with it. "Macavity" he said as he looked at the other cat that looked like this costume. "From now on, I'm calling you Plato, Macavity and let me see here, Blitz." The three cats let out a chorus of meows as if they were singing in a Jellicle choir because Bryn just called them by their Jellicle names. Every night, Bryn would watch his cats and then would act like them the next day for the video that was being filmed CATS.
