Liza Minnelli - WISH YOU WERE HERE

Before Judy & Liza left the UK Judy brought Liza out to sing at an appearance in Manchester. When questioned about performing in public, after the show, Liza told the Daily Express that she would like to go on to the musical stage as a dancer. In July 1961 Liza got the opportunity, dancing in the chorus of "Wish You Were Here".

Minnelli went on to establish herself as a charismatic, energetic singer and actress on stage in the early 1960s. After making her stage debut in a stock production of the musical "Wish You Were Here" in 1961, she continued to hone her craft in both musicals ("Take Me Along") and plays ("The Diary of Anne Frank") before making an acclaimed off-Broadway debut in the revue "Best Foot Forward" in 1963.
