...rpg instructions and rules
- When posting in the RPG, please fill the name field of the post with the name of the character you are playing, and not your own name. This makes things clearer.
- It is forbiddden to post using someone else's username or character name, unless you have their permission, and that you have informed me (either my e-mail or through the RPG).
- When you first join the RPG, please read some of the recent threads to get an idea of how to post, and also of the story so far. This limits confusion. If you are still unclear to what is going on, either e-mail me, or another member of the RPG to ask.
- Make sure all your posts are in the third person. An example of this is: "Carbucketty wakes up". This is in the third person. "I wake up" would be incorrect as it is in the first person. If all posts are in the third person it retains clarity.
- Please try to post using correct grammar structures and punctuation. When your character speaks in the post, please use correct punctuation (in this case, use inverted commas: ""). Do not leave out the inverted commas during speech in your post, because this makes it confusing to differentiate between action and speech.
- When you need to post a message to all the players on the RPG that is not part of the story (and you are therefore not posting 'in character'), this is called an out of context post, or OOC post for short. You might want to post one of these when you are going away on holiday, for example, and cannot post, because you want to notify other players. In this instance, you must put "OOC" in the subject line, to make it clear it is not part of the story. Having said that, please try to limit the number of OOC posts you make, and only post when it feels important and relevant enough to discuss. I do not want to see posts on the board that are completely irrelevant to the RPG, even if they are labelled OOC. In these cases, the whole thread may be deleted. If you want to post something that is too OOC for the RPG, contact members via e-mail; their addresses are on the taken characters list off the main page.
- Under no circumtances should you post violent, vulgar or offensive remarks. This includes swearing, which is not permitted on the RPG. Please try and keep the RPG suitable for children.
- Try to post at least once every few weeks. If you do not, your character will be taken from you without notice and offered to someone else. Please note that as administrator, I do check the board to see if people are posting, and I also have several people on the board who will inform me if a character is not appearing.
- If you decide that you no longer want to participate in the RPG, or know that you are not committed to posting reasonably frequently (i.e. once every several weeks or so), please let me know, so I can remove the character from the taken characters list. When people stop playing without notifying me, it is not only a shame, but rather irritating, because I keep having to turn down requests for characters that are taken, but are not being played. This denies committed players the chance to be part of the RPG.
- Bear in mind that some characters are popular, and I may get more than one request for a character. In those cases, I will accept the request that I recieve first. Please do not be offended if the character you want is not available.
- Only one character is permitted per person. Do not apply for more than one character, as this is unfair to other people.
- I reserve the right to ban individual users from the RPG without reason, by either changing the password, or in more severe cases, banning the IP address. If any of the rules are broken, I will certainly seriously consider removal from the RPG.
- In incidents when I not available to moderate the RPG (for example, when I'm either very busy or on holiday), ??? will administrate for me. If you cannot contact me for some reason, please e-mail her.
- Although the RPG is moderated, I hold no responsability for the content of the RPG, but I will try to remove any offensive messages as soon as I see them.
- Most importantly, have fun!
