Mark McKerracher - Old Deuteronomy
TRAINING - Born and raised in Los Angeles, Mark began acting at the age of 10. Recieved his AA at Santa Monica College and his BFA in Theatre at Santa Barbara University, winning various scholarships and awards for acting as well as graduating with honours. He also studied privately with Jeff Corey (Theatre 90).
THEATRE - Some theatre credits: Jean Valjean in Les Misérables for four and a half years (Broadway, West End and first national tour od USA), The Phatom in The Phantom of the Opera (West End, Edinburgh and manchester), Sweeny Todd in Sweeny Todd (Welsh tour, Theatre Clwyd), Man One in Closer Than Ever (Jermyn Street Theatre), File in 110 in the Shade (Fortune Theatre), Baron Von Scarheart in Dick Barton, Special Agent (Warehouse Theatre), Adam in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (UK Tour), Don Pippo in Th Cairo Goose (Brampton Court). Emile in South Pacific (Glendale rep), Sgt. Rooney in Stramers, Dogberry in Much Ado about Nothing and Faustus (Dir - Giles Havergil at Santa Barbara), the Gentleman Caller in The Glass Menagerie (Ensemble Theatre), Tragedian in Rosencrantz &Guildenstern Are Dead (San Francisco Rep), Actor for the bay Area Playwrights festival (Dir - Robert Woodruff), Yahoodi in Mad Dog Blues (alchema Players). Mark most recently performed with Claire Moore on Jersey in a Proms evening with the Jersey symphony orchestra.
FILM/TELEVISION/RADIO - Sang for President Clinton and VP Gore at Clinton/Gore Rally (CNN), Jackson Pollock in Unframed Space, featured in music videos for John waite and Lovin’ Spoonful. On television Mark featured in Kavanagh QC, Myseteries with Carol Vorderman for the BBC, 14 national commercials (one directed by Ridley Scott), The Les Misérables 10th Anniversary Concert at the Albert Hall, sang and featured with Debbie Gibson at the fifth year celebration for Les Misérables at the Rockerfeller Center for CNN documentary, and most recently the feature film Reich. for BBC radio, Mark has sung for National Music Day and performed in the radio drama, Open Secrets.
OTHER - mark has made recordings of South Pacific, 42nd Street, and the Penguin audio book for Les Misérables. Mark has sung the National Anthem for the Bulls Vs Lakers basketball game the Mets baseball stadiums in Chicago and New York for the World’s Ambassadors at the American embassy.
