Owosso has a WHOREHOUSE in it!
In a bit of unplanned publicity, a local demonstrator
picketed the Owosso theatrical showing of Best Little Whorehouse in
Texas. There were also letters to the editor in the Argus (local
paper) and a few complaints directly to Owosso Community Players, mostly
about the word WHOREHOUSE on the marquee. Interestingly, there were no
such complaints when the movie was showing a few years earlier in the same
exact building.
Whorehouse, as the show has become affectionately
known, was directed by John Morovitz. Lighting was designed by Paul
Kuhlman. Set was designed by David O'Berry.
