Since the school is overpopulated by girls, many of the parts played by men in Melville's book get assigned to the female students. At the start of the show, the DRAMA TEACHER introduces the idea to the students! The five women leads pull parts out of hat (STUBB, ISHMAEL, PIP, ESTA and QUEEQUEG). The teacher takes the role of "AHAB".
