Comments:

Jim had came on stage dressed in black flared jeans, blue-tee shirt and boots:

"This whole thing started with rock’n’roll and now it’s out of control." Jim told the audience.

Although Jim may have lost his "Lizard King" look ever since that fateful night in Miami, this didn’t stop the girls from running up to Jim and trying to hug and kiss him - and this is exactly what happened to Jim in San Diego that night. Apparently one girl (amongst another half a dozen other girls) had rushed to the stage and literally hung off Jim while he kept on singing "Break On Through".

Jim yelled to his audience:

"You’re out of sight" as he took a sip from a perpetually filled paper cup of beer.

The Doors had played a two hour set that night and according to Lee Grant of The Los Angeles Times, he described the group’s performance as being ".....pulsating, sensual, and fun". Morrison’s vocals were in top form - and musically the group played fine as well. During the last half hour of the show The Doors put together a list of old rock’n’roll classics, which included a singing narrative by Jim and some extended instrumental solos. Only the last half hour from the whole concert was recorded by an audience member. What a shame this is a poor recording, seeing that the group’s set included a rather rare medley of "Light My Fire" fused with "Fever", "Summer Time", "Easy Ride" and "St. James Infirmary". This medley has only been recorded once before at the P.N.E Coliseum in Vancouver earlier that year.

This recording is definitely one for the hard-core Doors collector.
