Chapter 3: Shared Feelings

Note: I wanted to say thanks to everyone who
reviewed my first two chapters. It meant a lot to
me. I would like to encourage anyone who reads this
to review it and tell me what you think of it, whether
it is good or bad. This chapter will be written in
Mungo’s POV, and the bold words will stand for his
thoughts. I hope you enjoy!!! Oh yeah, and no
cockney accents. I might go insane if I have to type
those!

Mungojerrie dragged his feet through the dirt as he
and Rumpleteazer made their way to the Jellicle
Junkyard. Teazer bounced along a few feet ahead of
him happily chattering about what the day was to
bring. Mungo wasn’t really listening to his little
sister; he wasn’t paying attention to her at all.
Instead he would nod his head every couple of minutes
so Teazer wouldn’t notice his distraction. In reality
Mungo was deeply absorbed in his own thoughts. His
mind was solely focused on one certain black, brown,
white, and scarlet queen.

She’s so beautiful, Mungo thought, I just
wish there was someway I could get the courage to talk
to her. But whenever I see her, my mind goes utterly,
and hopelessly blank when I stare into those deep
brown, sparkling eyes. I should have asked her to
dance at the Ball, but handsomer toms surrounded her
the entire night. So instead I ended up dancing with
my little sister while Tumblebrutus had his paws all
over her.

Mungo’s thoughts came to an abrupt halt when he
realised that they had just entered the Junkyard. He
looked around the familiar area, noting the smiling
faces of his tribe members. He looked at the giant
tire where Old Deuteronomy, their great leader, often
resided. Mungojerrie’s mind travelled back to the
days before he and his sister were graciously welcomed
into the tribe by the wise cat. They had lived alone
in the streets, scrounging for food, and sleeping in
dank, freezing alleyways. When Macavity had seen them
in the street, and asked them if they would like to
come live in his lair the two kits gladly accepted.
Back then; it had seemed like a dream come true. They
would get fed regularly, have a nice warm place to
sleep, and be around cats who cared for them. Sadly,
they soon discovered that Macavity’s intentions had
not been kind, but sinisterly evil. He started them
out doing small jobs for them, here and there. Then
they moved onto larger and much more dangerous jobs.
If the tasks were not performed correctly, they would
both be subject to a savage beating from the Mystery
Cat himself. To compensate for their mistreatment,
and since they were such good “employees”, Macavity
pulled a few strings so they could find a permanent
home with a human family. Mungo and Rumple found a
place almost immediately in a rich neighborhood.

The house was one of the nicest in Victoria Grove. It
was tall, straight, and white with perfect green
shutters at every window. The lawn was well kept with
tidy rose bushes along the walk to the front door.
Inside the house were spacious rooms, richly
upholstered. But what caught the sibling’s eye the
most were the many valuable, shiny items perfect for
stealing. It was in the large home in Victoria Grove
where Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer learned that
stealing was great fun, as was tormenting their human
family. They, shortly after this epiphany, decided to
leave Macavity for good, and join the Jellicle tribe.

During all this thinking, Mungojerrie had somehow
managed to make his way to the middle of the junkyard
without bumping into anyone. He was a bit tired from
the long walk to the Junkyard and decided to rest a
little in a patch of inviting sun. Rumple sank down
next to him and continued talking.

“Oh Mungo, Look! It’s Tugger!” Rumple exclaimed
breathlessly.

Slowly Mungo changed his position until he was looking
directly at the large, (devilishly handsome) cat.

As always, he’s surrounded by his whole fan club.
How come some toms get all the luck! Mungo could
clearly see the looks of admiration and affection
plastered on all the young queens faces. As usual he
was surrounded by Victoria, Etcetera, Electra,
and…..Jemima! His heart skipped a beat and then sunk
painfully as he saw the beautiful young queen,
his beautiful young queen, sitting so closely
to Tugger that his large body almost completely
enveloped her petite one. Mungo had to fight the urge
to run over to Tugger, rip that confident smirk off
his face, sweep Jemima up into his strong arms, and
give her the kiss of her life. He can get all the
queens he wants, so why does he have to go after the
only one I want? Then as if by the power of
prayer, Mungo saw the exact thing he needed to see. A
look of utter and complete disgust flickered across
her heavenly face, if only for a second. It was
enough to let Mungo know that she hadn’t fallen for
Tugger’s charms like her friends had.

“Let’s go over and say hi,” suggested Teazer a second
before she started walking towards the small group,
giving Mungo no option but to follow.

Hey, Teazer”, said Tugger in his slow sexy drawl,
while looking her up and down approvingly, “How are
you beautiful?” At this Teazer blushed but quickly
recovered her senses and answered cheekily, “I’m much
better now that I’ve seen you, Tugger.” Tugger seemed
to approve of her answer.

Mungo watched in disgust as Tugger pushed Jemima away
from him quite rudely, to make plenty of room for
Teazer to sit. Jemima rolled quite a bit before she
came to a sudden stop right at Mungo’s feet. He could
tell she was blushing furiously, and he was sure he
was too. He was tempted to take her hand and help her
to her feet, but was afraid that once he had touched a
part of her, he wouldn’t be completely satisfied until
he had touched her entire body. So instead he
pretended not to notice her ungraceful landing.
Mungo said hello to Tugger, and each of the girls in
turn. He was frightened that his voice wouldn’t work
when it was time to say hello to Jemima. Luckily it
did, but it came out in little more than a whisper.
He was surprised and pleased to hear her reply in the
same manner.

Mungojerrie began to feel uncomfortable being the only
of the six cats to still be standing. Yet he was
unsure of where to sit. He didn’t want to be anywhere
near Tugger, or Victoria for that matter. Victoria
had always looked down at him since he had been
involved with Macavity. Mungo finally decided the
only place to sit was next to Jemima. As he sat, he
became aware of her body tensing as he came closer.
It made him nervous at first, but after a few moments
she relaxed and most of her previous tension was
gone. Mungo was in absolute kitty heaven. He had
never sat this close to Jemima, and he was sure he
would never have a chance to again. The fur on their
forearms was nearly touching, and when one of them
moved slightly, the delicious friction would send
zillions of sparks through both of their bodies.
Jemima could barely contain a light sigh every time
this happened…

I know this is a really bad place to stop, but I feel
if I continue at the moment this will become NC-17.
Maybe it will, but not now. I mean I wrote “delicious
friction”. Well if you enjoyed this chapter tell me
why, if you hated it tell me why also. All reviews
are greatly appreciated.

Love, Genevieve!
