Part 2
When we got back to Macavity’s gang’s hideout, which happened to be an old warehouse, I was dragged to Macavity’s room and left to wait. I looked around the room, the door was locked tight and the windows had bars. It seems like Macavity chose this room to keep unwilling queens trapped. I found a nice pillow and curled up on it and cried myself to sleep the ball and Macavity’s catnapping had worn me out.
I woke up when I was being dragged across the floor. I looked up to see a cat I didn’t recognise, I guessed he must be one of Macavity’s henchcats.
“Wha’z goin’ on?” I hissed.
“I moving you to another room, Macavity’s not going to be ready for you tonight so he told me to move you.”
“Well I iz able ta walk!” I said bluntly.
The henchcat allowed me to get up. He held my paws behind my back and pushed me towards my new room. It was another cell, I checked the door after I had been thrown in, it was locked, but I hadn’t heard a key. It must only be locked from this side.
I sat in the corner and began to cry again. Suddenly I felt a raspy tongue on my face. I imagined it was Mungojerrie, but as I opened my eyes I saw a small white ball of fur.
“Victoria?”
“Hi Teazer!” Vicki was one of the newest kittens in the tribe, she couldn’t be more then 4 or 5 moons old.
“Wha’ are ‘ou doin’ ‘ere Vicki?”
“I came to see you Teazer, aren’t you happy to see me?”
“Yes, but it’z dangerous ‘ere. ‘Ow did ‘ou get ‘ere anywayz?”
“Well when you didn’t turn up after the ball this afternoon, some of the cats were worried and decided to look for you. Mungojerrie looked real worried and ran off like he new where you were, so I followed him.” Victoria looked very proud of herself.
“Do ‘ou know where weez are Vicki?”
“No, we must be somewhere special ‘cause you’ve got a real nice room!”
“Vicki, we iz in Macavity’s ‘ideout.” She looked like she might feint.
“Oh Heaviside!”
“‘Ou ‘ave ta ‘ide Vic, de doors locked an’ I don’t know when Macavity will be back fur me.”
“Why does he want you Teazer?”
“Fur de same reasons ‘e wantz Demeter, no ‘ide someone’z comin’.”
As Vicki hid I curled up again and pretended to be asleep. As the door opened I heard a sigh and hoped the cat would leave, but instead they started to walk into the room.
“Teazah?” It was Mungo.
“Mungojerrie, wha’ do ‘ou want?” He looked surprised at my tone.
“I’m ‘ere ta ‘elp ‘ou Teazah!”
“No ‘ou aren’t, ‘ou work fur Macavity.” Victoria squeaked
Mungo looked up startled, “wha’ waz dat?”
“Nufin’” I hissed back.
“Weez ‘ave ta go now Teazah, afore Macavity wantz ‘ou. Please don’t argue!”
“Ok Mungo, but ‘ou bettah not be lyin’!”
He checked that it was all clear and then walked out. I grabbed Vicki and followed him. A few cats were coming our way so we ducked behind a wall. Mungo looked over at me and found I had Vicki.
“Wha’z she doin’ ‘ere?”
“She followed ‘ou, she wanted ta see me.” Jerrie nodded.
We were silent as four of Macavity’s henchcats marched past.
“Let’z go.” Mungo whispered once they’d passed.
We ran for a back exit that Mungo knew we got there without too many more interruptions. Once we got outside we ran as fast as we could for ten minutes until we got out of Macavity’s territory. I collapsed exhausted, still holding Vicki in my mouth
“’Ou stay ‘idden ‘ere,” Mungo said to me. “I ‘ave ta take ‘er back ta de junkyard an’ ‘our too tired.”
I hid where Mungojerrie told me too and watched him walk off with Victoria. I wanted to go with him, but he was right I was exhausted.
Mungojerrie didn’t come back for a long time and I was getting worried that he’d leave me here in the middle of nowhere. After about two hours he came back.
“Where ‘ave ‘ou been?”
“I ‘ad ta go back ta Mac’s lair ta ask why ‘e didn’t come ta git Dem, else ‘e’d know I ‘elped ‘ou escape.”
“Oh,” I said surprised at his risk.
“Come on letz go ‘ome,” he motioned me to follow him.
“I could ‘ave gone back ta de junkyard wid Vicki, den ‘ou wouldn’t ‘av ‘ad ta come back fur me.” I said confused.
“Not ta dat ‘ome, ta Victoria Grove. Bettah ‘ou bein’ at my place tonight den at de junkyard where Mac came foind ‘ou.”
I stared at Mungo in shock and nodded because I couldn’t do anything else.

Once we got to Victoria Grove, Mungo took me through the back kitty door. All I could do was look around at his huge home.
“Are ‘ou ‘ungry an’ thirsty?” he asked.
“Yeah, a little.” I whispered back.
He took me to his food bowl and water. I ate and drank a little then looked around some more, unsure of what else to do.
“‘E took ‘ou instead ov Dem didn’t ‘e” Mungo asked.
I looked up at him and nodded as tears started to stream down my face. “‘E wantz me ta work fur ‘im.”
“Oh roight.”
“Why did ‘ou come ta git me?” I whispered.
He came over and whipped away my tears, before smiling and saying, “because ‘e wasn’t meant ta take ‘ou.”
“But ‘ou’d ‘ave let ‘im take Dem?” I was really angry about that.
“I ‘ad no choice!” Mungo whispered back. He looked me straight in the eye. He was so handsome I almost melted. The warm tingly feeling came back with a new intensity. I walked over to the corner suddenly realising what was happening and what Macavity had meant. I was in heat! And of all the places to be I was in Mungojerrie’s home. I would’ve run out of there right then but he was blocking the doorway. He started to walk towards me, as he got closer I started moving backwards. I didn’t want him finding out about my ‘condition’.
I bumped into the wall and all I could do was look at Mungo and hope he didn’t notice.
“Teazah are ‘ou ok?”
“Yes,” I squeaked out. How embarrassing! He came right up to me and sniffed me.
“So Mac did take ‘ou instead ov Dem.”
I nodded with my head down. The last thing I wanted anyone, in particular Mungo, to know was how close I had come to being Macavity’s mate. I guess it’s a bit late for that now though.
He licked my face, “It’z ok Tea, nufin’ ‘appened.”
“But it almost did Mungo, ‘e ‘ad me an’ could do wha’evah ‘e wanted.”
“But ‘e didn’t Teaze, ‘ou iz ok.”
“Only ‘cauz ov ‘ou,” Mungo smiled at that and started to lick my head. I shivered at his touch. I realised that things were going much too fast but I needed Mungo. I don’t think I could stand to be this close to him and for nothing to happen, the heat was taking over. I had to rely on instinct and hope I wasn’t making a huge mistake.
I looked at Mungo pleading him to help me.
“‘Ou sure?” I nodded. He moved around behind me, I didn’t really know what to expect. He ran his paws down my flanks and I started to relax. Then he lent over and bit down hard between my neck and my shoulder. I squealed. It was painful but it was also exciting. It got to the point where I felt like I was going to break in two. Then all the tension released and we both collapsed in a heap on the floor.
Mungo moved around me and curled up next to me. That was it, I was no longer a kitten. I fell asleep with Mungo’s warm body next to mine.
